The Youth Empowerment program includes the following:
A- Employment Services
Seeking to help youth of marginalized areas to find jobs through linking them to the private sector and increase their chances of employment through conducting training and workshops to gain professional and personal skills that respond to the needs and capabilities of these youth.
B- Youth Dialogue Sessions
There is a clear gap in Tripoli between young people from the disadvantaged areas and the more advantaged areas in Tripoli. In a move to bridge the gaps between young Tripolitans, this program includes a series of dialogue sessions where participants from all over Tripoli that are coming from different social backgrounds and educational levels, meet in one place to share their opinions and concerns, and to establish a common ground for future cooperation regarding the opportunities and challenges of the city.
C- Capacity Building
Youth receive comprehensive capacity building trainings to equip them with the necessary skills in order to solve developmental issues in their area, pave the way toward finding solutions with the concerned authorities (municipal or any other government department), and strive to economically and culturally develop their community. This is achieved through engaging youth in activities and workshops that provide practical work experience in volunteering and advocacy methods.
D- Sports
UTOPIA places primary emphasis not just on educational programs but also on recreational and sports programs that empower youth’s capabilities and help them become catalysts of peace-building and positive change in their communities. UTOPIA organizes football tournaments and frequent friendly matches for youth from Bab Al Tabbaneh, Kobbeh and Bab Al Ramel. Such activities are an opportunity for young people from disadvantaged areas in Tripoli to integrate with their peers from more advantaged areas of the city and to fill the gaps between them.
